Take Me - Single
Smoldering, sultry alternative R&B didn’t originate with Miguel or the Weeknd, but they certainly helped popularize the trend. Toronto has now become a hotbed for the movement, and newcomer act Once a Tree is on board. The husband-wife duo, comprised of producer Hayden and singer Jayli Wolf, has already impressed audiences and the likes of Billboard and The Fader with their seductive tracks and live performances. A debut EP, Thousand Lives, is due in a few weeks, and the singles keep trickling out. Following dubby cut “Howling,” is the newly released “Take Me”, a hazy, minimalist, slow-tempo jam with swelling synths and trap beats that’s more spiritually centered than anything by Purity Ring, but shares more than a few sonic similarities.
Look out for Thousand Lives on July 10, to be released through Forseen Entertainment.
